This is one of the most amazing discoveries we’ve ever come accross…this is a once in a lifetime find. To Corvette lovers worldwide, everyone has their favorite year & motor choices. If you like them all, then this is the ultimate C-3 model in existance. This was ordered new by it’s 1st & only owner from new, Ralph Kimbrell, from Benton, Arkansas, from Russell Chevrolet in North Littlerock on May 27th, 1970. This 1st year LS-5 equipped Roadster had the most potent motor of this period, the new 454 cubic inch engine that replaced the 427, now having 390 HP. Mr. Kimbrell ordered his new beautiful Monza Red Corvette w/the luxury items of his choice, a Turbo Hydromatic Automatic transmission w/Factory Air Conditioning. He liked a flashy car so he opted for the matching Red vinyl interior w/a white Soft Top & for an additional small amount, he ordered it’s factory Auxiliry Hard Top in matching Monza Red, so he could stay warm during the cold winters in Arkansas & still enjoy his new Convertible. Along with this special order, Ralph purchased an AM-FM radio, Power Steering & a Tilt/Tele Steering wheel. Ralph used this little Red Corvette very sparingly over the next 4 decades & today, she has only a mere 12K original miles. He also was a wise owner & from new, Ralph kept every piece of paperwork that the dealer gave him with the car including it’s original hand written bill of sale, the typed dealer invoice to him for $5500; the original Protect-o-Plate still attached to it’s original folder & the dealer information card that looks like a credit card w/his name & the VIN # on it for the dealer to keep track of all his warranty on the spot. Now for the good news, Mr.Kimbrell has owned this Vette from new & we purchased it directly from him having the title still in his name. The title is from 1980, being Ralph financed it twice, once when new & again in 1980. We also have both sets of finance contracts included. This LS-5 is maybe the most original car of it’s kind still wearing it’s original Monza Red paintwork on it’s body & hard top. It’s Red interior is perfectly original showing only slight aging & wear. It’s original white soft top is almost new condition since Ralph rarely took the hard top off the car. This is such an amazing find that she still wears her 4 original Firestone Wide Oval tires including the spare tire & wheel, which have never been on the ground nor bolted to the car. Being so excited about this gorgeous Survivor, we just took it to the South Florida Region NCRS event in Kissimmee, Florida to get judged for a “Bowtie” award. After many hours on the show field on January 31st, she came out of there w/a signed off “3 Star” Bowtie consideration for it’s original paint, interior & engine bay w/a 4th Bowtie consideration for it’s undercarriage…not bad for it’s 1st showing ever at a major NCRS event. This LS-5 is one of the best investments in the Corvette future’s world…just on it while she’s still available.
