Every once in a while you find a gem of an all original special car that no one knew about until you’ve discovered it… This 911 is one of those cars. Ordered by its 1st owner, a Test Pilot for the Air Force, whom ordered it from new option by option. The story goes that he died in a Jet that exploded on takeoff from Virginia. He never took delivery of his new 911. At that time, his Wife took delivery of his new Gulf Blue 911 in his honor. She drove it along w/her 2 sons for 32 years around Ft.Walton Beach, Florida until it went to a close friend of the family, Sid Collins, of Orlando, Florida in 2006. This 911 is a true time warp “Survivor” with a perfect past history always being garaged from day one. It was ordered new with the following items: Base price was $9950; 5 Spd. $250; Gulf Blue Paint $330; Option Group K11 $565; Forged Alloy Wheels 6×15 $605; Black Porsche Side Lettering $45; Leather covered Steering Wheel $90. & Tinted Glass all around $190. Transportation was $63. Its list price was a grand Total of $12,088.60 which was huge money at that time. Now this is where this 911 sets itself apart from any other…it just turned 35K miles on the odometer. Its original paint is near perfect never being damaged at any time or blown in since day one & has a luster like it’s just a few years old. Never any rust. The Black interior is in the same shape & will blow your mind. No wear…no fade…just the slightest aging & looks restored…but alas…it is not ! It also has 2 options hardly ever seen on any 911’s..being void of a Sunroof & A/C…it has flip out opening front 1/4 glass as well as the back side windows pop open for air circulation. The under carriage is perfect. The front trunk is like new. The engine bay & all stickers are untouched & mint. The greatest thing on this Gulf Blue 911 is that every rubber gasket is original & also as the car goes…mint condition having no drying or cracking & having no replacements ever. This is a museum worthy car in every respect. Top this off w/the original factory window sticker & what a 911 this is in the collector car world. Lastly, Mr.Collins is one of the best 911 repairmen on Earth having a Race Shop specific to 911’s, Sid personally rebuilt the motor less than 300 miles ago to way better than Factory specs w/all “S” Factory parts. It will literally burn rubber if you wanted to which is as it should have when this baby was new. For those wanting the best 1974 911 that will blow away any Porsche event or connoisseur of 911’s…please do not miss this opportunity. This is from our personal collection…is this the one for you ?
