This has to be the cleanest earliest production electric L-5CESN to have surfaced in years, purchased new at Fife & Nichols Musical Instruments in the Los Angeles, California area, this very 1st year of production example is museum quality in all respects, its Blonde finish is stunning having no wear to speak of in any way, its carved spruce top has a beautiful slightly yellowed patina showing a wonderful grain pattern, its carved very figured “bubble” maple back & sides are as beautiful also showing very little use during its 65 years in existence, its ebony fingerboard w/pearl block inlays is fat & feels great, its 3 piece maple neck has a very unusual “Chevron” V-shaped flamey pattern that we’ve never seen on any Gibson guitar throughout our 27 years in business, it has 2 delicious sounding black P-90 pickups that are to die for, it is also sporting its original Kluson “Stay-Fast” tuners w/white buttons, also its original compensated wooden bridge & 2 piece tailpiece, lastly its still retains its 4 gold high top barrel knobs, it was registered at the factory in September 1952 and probably shipped the same month to Fife & Nichols, a very cool Pre-“Z” code 4-digit factory order #, its White oval labels A-code serial # states it to be from 1952 when it was delivered, it is truly near mint in all respects & may be the cleanest original 1st year of production L-5CESN left in the world, it is 100% original & worth its price of admission, it comes with its original Brown Tolex/Pink lined hard case.
