This is one of the coolest all original Jazz Guitars ever to come out of the New York Guild factory, this early model A-500 has a wonderful Light Brown Sunburst finish w/just a killer faded patina, it was the top of the line guitar before Johnny Smith had his own model, great feeling 3 piece maple/walnut neck w/a rosewood fingerboard, notice the small V shaped abalone inlay inside of a white pearl black inlay only used in the earliest production before the V shaped inlay became much larger, “G” shield inlaid headstock inlay sporting a set of Kluson Deluxe tuners, solid spruce top complimented w/a super figured maple back & sides, engraved Harp Tailpiece, 2nd earliest square label from the New York factory, sent back to Guild c.1961 for the installation of its new (at the time) “Award Model” floating D’Armond Pickup (as used on the current Johnny Smith Award) w/cool black & white Stair step pickgard assembly, this is the earliest A-500 we have ever encountered & it is virtually impossible to fined another like it ever, it is excellent overall & all original condition, it comes with its original Brown hard case.
