Description
This is a very unusual & extremely rare Premier Deluxe Arch Top made in 1958. These guitars were made by United Guitars for Epiphone, Standel, Multivox, Gretsch & D’Angelico. John D’Angelico often used the same guitar body for his electric guitars in the late 50’s & are highly sautés after. A good buddy John in Boston found this stunner many years ago & finally decieded to let her go & let us acquire it. The Premier Guitar Company was famous for its most deco, ornate & over the top solid bodies along w/tons of regular player grade stuff. This example is the only one we’ve ever seen & has that “WOW” factor in its gorgeous Dark Sunburst finish over a spruce top & flamey maple body. Its full sized maple neck has a beautiful bound ebony fingerboard w/pretty pearl block inlays. Its headstock has a very fancy logo & multi piece pearl & abalone inlaid torch. This is equipped w/all gold hardware for its tuners, its bridge & deco tailpiece. Its got the wildest set of 3 bakelite & sparkle knobs & insane pickup selector switch. Its Black pickgard is so rare to have aboard. The coolest part of this period for Premier are their use of the hippest Fransch (Franz) adjustible pole pickups. Its also featured in the book “Guitars-A celebration of Pure Mojo” by David Schiller. It appears all original. Its in really excellent shape having some weather checking & a few chippies, but presents itself very well. It comes in a beautiful black tolex period hard case.
