Description

This is 1 of the very coolest & very rare late production example of the “Single Cutaway” Country Gent for 1959. Its got an amazingly flamey Maple Top w/ribbons of criss-crossed figure w/a nicely faded see-thru Walnut finish that is one of the best looking Gretsch Gents ever produced. Its equipped w/a set of the grooviest black plastic inlaid F-Holes pre-dating its painted on counterparts & were gone by 1961. Its back & sides have some incredible figuring to them too.  Its mahogany neck is pretty clean showing slight checking & some discoloration. Its loaded w/a rare set of transitional faded Gold covered “PAF” Filter’tron pickups w/gold sculpted bezels. Its got Thumb Print inlays in its bound ebony fingerboard. Its original faded gold Grover Imperial tuners are clean & hold true. Its original Gold pickgard has a large crackle by both screws but perfectly intact. Its equipped w/a Bigsby V cutout Vibrato w/a reissue arm only & a Rocking Bar Bridge. This is a very complete all original Gent worth considering. It’s rather excellent overall & comes in its original beat sweet Gray tolex hard case.
