This is an incredible original 1st year “Stacked Knob” Jazz Bass in very good shape, its 3-tone Sunburst finish over an alder body is simply from the very 1st batch of these, its Slab-Rosewood neck is slim like its so famous for & has a pencil’d in neck date of 9/60, its pretty pepperoni colored Tortoiseshell pickgard has 1 chip yet pulls this all together making it one of Fender’s most desirable basses ever, its 2 pickups are super smooth w/that quintessential “Jazz Bass” sound !, its so cool & original from its tuners to its bridge to its outside ground wire to its 1 piece headstock logo, this bass was played by its 1 & only owner, a Mr. Bill Miles from Columbia, South Carolina, he used it regularly till around 1990, other than Bill getting a new set of reproduction pots dated c.1989, its all original in all respects, it still retains its bridge & pickup covers & most every single screw from new, a true rare find coming from its 56 year ownership, this is one of the earliest examples from the 2nd full month of regular production of a 1st year Stack Knob J Bass, its as rare as hen’s teeth, it plays & feels incredible, she comes in an original mid-60’s Black Tolex Hard Case.
