Description

This museum piece you see here is an ultra rare 1960 Rickenbacker 375F which is 1 of the best “Thin Single Cutaway Full Bodied” Capri’s. This Rick features its famous, fabulous & rich Mapleglo finish over its Double Bound Checkerboard body. Tonally, there’s nothing that can match the iconic jangle, chime, and shimmer of the Rickenbacker design, and there’s plenty of warmth and sonic variety available between the 3 original “Toaster” pickups. These are actually very conservatively wound with modest output that keeps the top end snap and sparkle of the Rickenbacker sound very present in the mix. The guitar has a vibrant and clear acoustic voice. This 375F is a very rare example being 1 of 3 in Rick’s Mapleglo finish ever made. It’s got all 50’s features like its Gold Lucite double pickgards w/a matching Gold truss rod cover. It also sports a set of the neatest TV knobs to utilize its early use of their Rick-O-Sound stereo pickup set up. Lastly it still has its factory stamped serial # “JK” on its double input stereo jack plate dates to November 1960. Its pot codes date to 1960. The original Kluson Tuners look like new as does all the nickel hardware. Its crushed pearl triangle fingerboard inlays are its most significant feature & look stunning. Lastly its sporting a very rare Long Ac’cent Vibrato w/groovy music notes cut out. This 65 year old Rickenbacker is quite impressive w/its good looks & a combination of tone that rocked the 60’s music scene. Every band had a Rick in their arsanal. The Rickenbacker guitar has always been a steadfast factor for any 60’s Rock Music Fans as every band had someone playing one ie George Harrison, Tom Petty & Pete Townsend to name a few. It’s featured in the new book “Rickenbacker Guitars Out of the Frying Pan & into the Fireglo” on page # 134. She’s truly near mint overall, completely original & she comes in her original Green/Gray Tolex/Red lined hard case.
