Description
This is the ultimate mostly original & affordable early production Pre-CBS “Stacked Pot” Jazz Bass w/all the 1st issue features, It has been pro-refinished by Bob Peterson in its original see-thru Blonde finish over a very lightweight Ash body & weighing in at a scant 8 lbs. 4 oz. Its “Unbound” Slab Rosewood Clay Dot neck is super slim w/some nice “Birdseye’s” in the maple all over. Its got s nice repro decal & she has an original penciled neck date of 7/61 making it 1 of the very 1st year produced & perhaps a very early “Custom Color” Blonde Jazz Bass from new. It’s sporting a very low serial # (55XXX) stamped on the 4-bolt neck plate. Its original Tortoise pickgard is gorgeous. Its 2 pickups are super smooth w/that quintessential “Jaco” sound !, its stacked pot date codes are from the 8th week of 1961. It’s so cool from its nickel tuners to its threaded saddle bridge w/outside ground wire holes still present & in place, it’s all original in most important respects. It plays & feels incredible & she’s still far betta than most out there, Having an ash body w/a Slab Rosewood neck makes it 1 of the best & most desirable examples on Earth, comes complete w/a nice factory 70’s Hard Case.
