1961 Gretsch 6113 Tennessean pre-6119
This super-rare Pre-6119 Tennessean Model 6113 that has a 15 3/4″ wide body w/a 2 3/16″ thick body. Its got an original see-thru Burgandy finish that has faded to a pretty Mahogany. Under its bridge still shows its original red color. Its got a Bound Top on a maple body with a pair of Black painted-on f-holes (with no painted white borders). Its got a 2 piece maple neck with a nut width of 1 1/16″, It got the earliest type “Unbound” rosewood fretboard with 21 original frets w/neo-classic inlaid pearloid thumbprint (half-moon) position markers. Its Black-finished headstock is inlaid w/a pearl Gretsch “T-roof” logo. Its Serial # is impressed into the top edge of the headstock. Its got 6 Individual open back tuners with white buttons. Its got Two Gretsch Hi-Lo’Tron (humbucker) pickups with silver plastic surrounds. Its Silver-gray Lucite pickguard with Gretsch “T-roof” logo in black is clean. Its Chrome “Arrow-through-G” knobs are shiny clean too. Its got a Gretsch “bar” bridge on an ebony base and an aluminum V-cutout Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. This rare guitar is in exceptionally clean all original condition. There were less than 200 made of the 6113 with the thicker body, no standby switch and no reference to Chet Atkins. Its a wonderful example & comes w/a killer rare factory thin Gray Tolex Hard Case.
