Description
The D-28 is a favorite of ours that’s consistently wonderful year after year in all respects. This was just acquired by us this week from its 1st last caretaker. Its stunning Sitka Spruce top is just about perfect. Its got some of the best book-matched & straight grained Brazilian Rosewood back & sides that are simply perfect. Its got most all Martins best features including its Standard X-bracing, Style 28 rosette, its rare & original tortoise pickgard, Select Hardwood Mahogany neck, Solid Ebony fingerboard w/20 frets and Style 28 inlays w/a 1 11/16″ nut width, Solid Ebony Belly-style bridge & perfect Grover tuners with metal buttons. Now 60 years old, this is a magical investment in all respects. Its near perfect original neck set has low action & the original bridge was taken down just a bit, she needs nothing at all but a good player. It is completely crack free w/no issues at all. It is truly exceptional having only aged in color & in its overall tone quality. Other than some weather checking all over, its 1 of the best D-28’s made w/nice choice woods & tone. Comes in a nice period Martin black tolex/blue lined hard case.
