1966 Guild S-200 Thunderbird
This was a very rare guitar for its day & very futuristic…the Thunderbird model was made in limited #’s beginning in 1963 thru 1968 most famous for its factory built in “Kickstand” that folds out when needed…outragious option huh ? Its original 2 1/2 tone Sunburst finish is quite clean w/only a small amount of play time having 2 noticeable gouges on its face. Its mahogany construction is lightweight & its neck has a nice full sized feel. Its bound block inlaid rosewood fingerboard has great frets. This is a rare version of this S-200 for c.1965 – 1966 it was made w/the coolest & rarest early type of single coil “White” DeArmond pickups. This has its original open back Grover tuners. Its asymmetrical headstock has the cool arrow shaped logo & bird inlay. It also sports its original red/white tone switches ala Jaguar w/its original set of knobs. Add to it a groovy
built in vibrato unit w/its matching arm. She’s featherweight & only 6 lbs. 10 oz. w/killer sustain & tone qualities. The pickgard on it is a good repro but the original one is also included in its original hard case.
