This bad boy still has its original 2-tone Black to Red Sunburst finish all over, its so clean & has none of the normal flaking nor weather checking most of these get over time, the AEB-1 (fretted) and the AUB-1 (fretless) were the first horizontal electric basses of Ampeg’s own design, and these are the most commonly recognized of all the Ampeg Basses, they feature a scroll headstock, similar to Ampeg’s Baby Bass having a rounded Jazzmaster shaped with two large F-holes that go all the way through the body, its Black pickgard is like no other guitar or bass ever, its fat neck & scroll headstock are stunning, its Ebony Fretless fingerboard is near new having no wear, its built-in pickup system is like an upright bass installed under its intricate bridge design, it bears serial production # 879, these are the coolest & most inventive basses to exist & is in exceptionally clean & 100% original, a very significant Bass for any serious collector, this is 1 rare bass in Museum Quality condition, comes with its original Black Tolex Hard Case.
