Paul McCartney brought the attention of the world to the Hofner Bass brand back in 1961 w/his 1st Violin Bass. They made many hollow bodies & many solid body basses & guitars. The Hofner Model 182 was a solid-body bass made from around 1962 to 1985. It has a solid body, its polyester polished sunburst finish is quite clean, its got 2 special bass-sound pickups (182/E2 model), 2 volume controls, 2 tone switches and a rhythm and solo sliding pickup selector. When Selmer distributed this bass in the UK in the early 1960s their catalogs simply called it the Hofner Solid Bass. Other than its 2 knobs being replaced, she’s all original & a great user friendly bass in excellent shape. It comes w/a nice padded gig bag.
