The HD-28 is a favorite of ours that’s consistently wonderful year after year in all respects. Its stunning Sitka Spruce top is just about perfect showing its stripes of figure quite unusual on any Martin. Its very colorful & quite grainy Indian Rosewood back & sides are quite nice. Its got most all Martins best features including its Standard X-Scalloped bracing, Bold Herringbone inlay, Style 28 rosette, a Tortoiseshell pickgard, HD Zig-Zag purfling, 25.4″ scale length, Select Hardwood Mahogany neck w/Low Profile & an adjustable truss rod, Solid Ebony fingerboard w/20 frets and Style 28 inlays w/a 1 11/16″ nut width, Compensated Bone saddle, Solid Ebony Belly-style bridge & perfect Chrome Enclosed tuners with large buttons. After nearly a century at the helm as the quintessential workhorse of music legends like Hank Williams, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and so many more, Martin’s legendary HD-28 had been lovingly and artfully enhanced when released starting in 1976. “The post WWII D-28 had a slightly different look than its predecessor and became the centerpiece of the folk and folk rock movements at their pinnacle in the 1950s and 1960s.” says Chris Martin, Chairman and CEO of Martin Guitar, “We have extracted the finest features from the D-28 of both my grandfather’s and my father’s respective eras. Now 45 years old & from Martins 2nd year produced, this is a magical investment in all respects. Don’t miss it. Just had a fresh neck set & she’s absolutely wonderful. It is truly excellent having only aged in color & in its overall tone quality. Comes in its original black molded hard case.
