This is a really wonderful 1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard 82 Reissue. It’s the only one we’ve ever encountered. It’s a very early attempt by Gibson to start reviving the vintage 50’s Les Paul’s again but w/a slightly modern take. In 1980 Gibson made the Les Paul Std. 80 which was the very 1st attempt to remake their 1959 Les Paul Std. all in a cherry sunburst finish. This “Standard 82” was a small run of Les Paul’s that were made w/the factories best wood selection way before their accurate ’59 Reissues were produced. The Natural finished maple top has 1 of Gibson’s best tops ever with an unusual combo of deep vertical grain along w/some fabulous quilty flames all over. Its natural finished back, sides & neck utilized some delicious choice Mahogany. Its a very early example having a fat 1 piece neck w/out a volute. Loaded w/a set of Tim Shaw PAF Reissue pickups along w/Pot Codes dating to the 9th week of 1982. This 1 of a kind example may have been displayed at the 1982 NAMM show. It’s 100% original & near mint overall. She comes in a nice original Black Tolex/Red Lined case.
