1992 Ovation 1881 NBBG Adamas II

Check out our c.1992 Adamas by Ovation 1881-NBBG 88 acoustic electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Made by Ovation in New Hartford, Connecticut, this Adamas sports a sophisticated blend of high technology and old New England craftsmanship with a carbon graphite top and Ovation’s mid-depth Lyrachord Contour Bowl body. Representing the ultimate craftsmanship from Ovation’s flagship workshop, the Adamas guitars feature a unidirectional carbon-graphite suspended soundboard with Quintad bracing, which provides a bold, clear voice and lightning-fast response. Each top is precisely fitted with “AST” – Adamas Suspended Top – technology that allows the ultra-thin top to vibrate more freely than traditionally constructed acoustic guitars. The tone is bright, chiming and distinct, with a focused low end while still having inherent warmth and fullness. The Ovation design truly shines in live situations with both XLR and 1/4″ outputs, a four-band EQ, additional filtering options, and a built-in tuner. This Adamas faithfully reproduces the percussive cut and expressive shimmer which has become the sonic signature of these carbon graphite-topped models. The mahogany and maple neck has a slender and soft V profile with a smooth satin finish. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features tri-diamond wood inlays and stock fretwire which is exceptionally clean. The headstock sports a rosewood veneer and a clean “Adamas” inlay, and the original gold Schaller tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The body features a rosewood bridge with ample saddle height, and the bright sits flush with the carbon graphite top. The Blue Green sparkle finish has a distinctive texture and complements the epaulets framing the sound holes. Cosmetically, the guitar is extremely well-kept, showing just a couple stray faint scuffs on the bowl. The neck profile is particularly smooth with only a few shallow nicks in the finish that are not distracting to the palm. This particularly rare USA-made Adamas Ovation is 100% original, sparingly played, and complete with the original hardshell case.
