Check out this cool & all original 1995 Parker Fly Concert guitar in almost new condition. Parker Guitars were the creation of visionary luthier Ken Parker in the 90’s. His original design was the Parker Fly Deluxe, which incorporated carbon fiber, custom designed pickups, and newly created Fishman piezo transducers. The guitars were made of lightweight tonewoods, like poplar and basswood, and covered with a carbon fiber epoxy to give the instrument strength. These elements worked together to create an instrument that was very lightweight, but had amazing acoustic properties, giving the ability to blend together electric and convincing acoustic sounds in the same guitar. The Parker Fly Concert models were made of solid spruce, and had no magnetic pickups to interfere with the vibrations of the instrument. They were hand-carved one at a time to provide the most light-weight, acoustically resonant tone possible. It’s truly exceptionally clean & comes in a nice newer hard case.

In the early 2000’s, Ken Parker sold Parker Guitars to US Music/Korg. The instruments were then mass produced for the next few years, but with a different level of quality and attention to detail. This is a 1998 Parker Fly Concert model (they were later renamed the Bronze in later years after US Music took over.) The guitar is entirely original, with no modifications. There are no cracks, chips, or damage of any kind, and the stainless steel frets still appear new. The guitar has been lovingly played over the years, but meticulously taken care of. It weighs only around 4.5 lbs, and is incredibly balanced. This Concert definitely has a more “acoustic” feeling neck. The profile is a little thicker, and the edges of the fretboard are more rolled. While it’s in pristine condition, it’s has the feel of a more played-in neck. I think the craftsmen had the true idea of the Fly Concert in mind when they were carving this one. And indeed, with your eyes closed, the feel of the neck and the interaction between the strings and the fretboard is remarkably acoustic feeling.
