Description

This is a 23 year old Rick Turner Model 2 Deluxe Bass from his Classic & Featherweight Series 32″ scale basses. Its got a stunning book matched flamey maple top w/a gorgeous Sunburst finish. Its got black front & back bindings around its sculpted body. All of the Deluxe Series Model 1 basses are highly detailed instruments. In a word, the Model 1 is all about versatility. This is the bass version of Lindsey Buckingham’s iconic Turner Model 1 guitar. Needless to say, this is rare special ordered bass ! Incredibly versatile in tone,  you can dial in just about any style you desire. It has two piece Honduras Mahogany body, five piece Maple neck w/graphite reinforcement, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, Schaller tuners, zero fret nut w/a single hum-cancelling swiveling pickup in the center & an optional stationary hum-cancelling pickup in its lead position. The pickups were designed by Bartolini & the top pickup is mounted on a rotating turntable to allow different angling under the strings. The electronics are active now. The last owner updated the passive system w/an Alembic like 18v “Lusithand Filter Preamp w/a pair of push/pull pots w/a 10db boost giving this bad boy an additional sound that emulates that true Turner/Alembic tone. In fact its very similar to John McVie’s Alembic tone. The original passive preamp & pots dated to 1998 are in its case pocket. Its playability is exceptional w/low action and clean frets. Its tone is earth shattering like most Series 1 Alembics w/a bite & crunch when activated or perfect for any style music. You’ll never find another one like this !!! Its near mint & comes in its original beige tolex shaped hard case.
