Description
This is a really cool 1-of-a-kind Arch Top that’s an exceedingly unusual special order model Byrdland in a factory Black finish completed on January 3rd, 2005. Hand built by James Hutchins from the Custom Shop in which this custom color was never available in their product catalogs. Its got a gorgeous gloss Black finish over a nice grainy “carved” spruce top w/a sharp “Florintine” cutaway that was never optional on many Byrdland’s, most being round Venetian cutaways. Its highly book matched fiddleback flamey maple back is so figured it shows thru the back finish like a map. Its beautiful feeling & playing multi piece maple neck feels fabulous. It’s got a white bound Ebony fingerboard w/pearl block inlays. You get a killer variety of jazz tones thru its 2 PAF Humbucking pickups. She sporting a set of Gibson by Schaller tuners. Its sporting 4 original gold knobs & it has a fabulous white bound Tortoise’gard. All of its Gold hardware is Minty from its inlaid wooden base Tun-a-Matic bridge to its cool “Byrdland” engraved trapeze tailpiece. It’s got a nice orange oval label perfectly intact that states the model name & may be the sole example ever produced w/its sharp pointy cutaway w/a sharp cutaway. She’s got killer sustain & tone qualities. Owned by its 1 & only local owner. He never used it & it’s like new in all respects. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity since “Hutch” passed away in 2010 & this can never be repeated. It has every single piece of case candy, hang tags & its original COA & comes in its original black tolex hard case.
