Description
We have a very cool & extremely early example of Peavey’s Top Line Cirrus Bass used exclusivly by Mr. Jeff Carswell, a very famous local bass player who worked w/Jaco on many projects. By blending high-end craftsmanship, exotic hardwoods, and powerful EMG humbuckers with 3-band active EQ. Its 1 of the rare 1st c.1997 neck-through body design pioneered by master luthier Mike Powers, these basses feature a 35-inch scale for enhanced low-end, visually striking flamey Redwood top & elegant details like rosewood fretboards, Cirrus inlays w/black & Gold hardware. With refined electronics and premium finishes, the Cirrus bass was a bold, modern evolution grounded in its respected legacy. The initial launch of handcrafted Cirrus basses in 1997 helped Peavey guitars gain a new level of respect among professional players. Peavey’s master luthier, the late Mike Powers, achieved excellent tone with a lighter, neck-through design. In the new Cirrus bass models, Peavey brings this essential feature, as well as the use of exotic hardwoods, state-of-the-art electronics, and a 35-inch scale length to improve the low-end. On each model, a rosewood fretboard with 24 medium jumbo frets is reinforced by purple heart wood stringers, which not only add to the tonal depth but provide an eye-catching design that complements each instrument’s overall look. Another captivating signature feature is the Cirrus inlay on the 12th fret. The engineering team also tips their hat to the lightweight original design by using graphite pultrusion, as well as a graphite top nut and graphite overlay headstock with Peavey’s block letter logo. It’s excellent overall & comes in a pretty sad hard case w/a missing handle.
