Description

The “Byrdland” was introduced in 1955 as Gibson’s first archtop electric guitar. The model name is a combination of the names of country and rockabilly guitarists Billy Byrd and Hank Garland. Its absolutely stunning in its Vintage Sunburst finish over its carved spruce & ridiculous fiddleback maple back, sides & neck, crafted by the Custom Shop in 2023. While it shares the same body shape as the L-5 and appears similar at first glance, it features a thinner body that is easier to hold. The body features a spruce top and flamed maple sides and back. The neck is a 5-piece construction of maple and walnut, with an ebony fingerboard. The neck profile is slightly thinner for a comfortable grip. The hardware is finished in gold, and the tailpiece is engraved with the word “BYRDLAND,” giving this guitar a premium feel. It is equipped with two original “57 Classic” pickups which recreates the vintage “PAF” pickup, pairs perfectly with this hollow-body guitar, delivering crisp high-mids and sweet harmonics. This guitar allows you to fully appreciate the airy resonance unique to hollow-body instruments. Its is truly as new & comes w/its original hard case.
