This is the ultimate Bass Players dream to gig with, this all original very earliest production “Slab” bodied Pre-CBS Precision Bass w/a fat maple neck w/Leo’s 1st type features in untouched original condition, it has its original See-Thru Butterscotch finish over a very lightweight super grainy Ash body pencil dated to 3/23/53 by “Eddie” in its neck pocket, its also pencil dated 8/4/53 by “Gloria” on its tape inside its control cavity & weighing in at 9 lbs. 10 oz; these 1st issue Fender Slab bodies are ridiculously & she has a very full sized Maple Neck pencil dated to 7/29/53, it’s sporting a very low serial # 1303 stamped on its original bridge, its original Black Bakelite pickgard has that gorgeous contrast used only from 1951-1955, brings this all together, its single coil pickup is super potent, its pot date codes are the 20th week of 1952, its so cool from its nickel tuners to its large rubber saddle bridge, its all original in all respects & still retains its bridge & pickup covers along with every single screw from new. She’s truly Near Mint & she comes complete in her original ultra rare brown tolex “Poodle” shaped hard case.
