Description
This is a very user friendly 1959 Gibson ES-345TDSV Stereo Varitone that is most guitar players favorite type guitar that can be used for every type of music on earth. Its last caretaker owned this for 53 years since 1973. It was at some point sent back to Gibson in the late 60’s for a refinish in a pretty 2-tone Sunburst that has aged well/some perfect patina. It apparently had a switch removed & the hole filled on its front right mickey mouse ear It’s got a nice feeling fairly thin 1 piece mahogany neck that has its original serial stamped into the back of its headstock as they did when work was done in house. Its truss cover states “Custom”. Its bound double parallelogram inlaid rosewood fingerboard plays perfectly. It’s now equipped w/a pair of early 60’s pat. # stickered Humbucking pickups w/a set of pots from 1969 that sound incredible. It’s still wearing its original long pickgard. It now sporting a set of Schaller tuners. Equipped w/a chrome tun-a-matic bridge w/a “Custom Made” plaque over its stop tailpiece posts. It’s Bigsby Vibrato & original gold knobs finish her off perfectly. She’s still sporting its original orange label w/a set of factory ink stamped #’s starting w/a “S” code for 1959. She’s a wonderful playing 345 & is excellent overall shape. She’s got an amazing vibe & tone. She comes in a decent 70’s hard case.
