Description
The Rickenbacker 4001 is a landmark in design to many bass players that appreciates vintage gear. To say many famous players used them just think of Paul McCartney, Chris Squire & Geddy Lee to name a few. This is a very clean & extremely Minty all original 1968 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass that has all the right stuff. It’s a very rare pre-stereo “Mono” example & perhaps the cleanest example extant. Its famous Fireglo finish is deep & rich w/a cool factor that only Rickenbacker used across its guitar & bass lines. Its fabulous “Checkerboard” bound top border is so deco & cool. Its “Crushed Pearl” triangular fingerboard inlays are so Ricky ! It’s got both its original “Toaster” rhythm & “Horseshoe” bridge pickups that sound insane. It’s got pot codes that date to 1968. Its serial # is “HF” which dates to June 1968. She’s got factory Kluson tuners, its white single layer pickgard & chrome capped black nobs. Just the way you want to see it. It plays & intonates quite well. It’s featured in the new book “Rickenbacker Guitars Out of the Frying Pan & into the Fireglo” on page # 164. She’s Truly Mint overall & comes w/its original matching Silver Tolex/Blue lined hard case.
