Description
This is a Unicorn amongst the underground Guild 12-string world ! Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel had a very special part of my wife’s early years. Living in Kew Garden Hills, Queens, Art lived right next door. Patti used to get rides on the back of Art’s Motorcycle around the hood. Ironically, in 1st grade, she had a Mrs. Simon, Paul’s Mom, as her teacher. Lastly in fact they performed the very 1st time in public at her elementary school, PS 164 ! Of course they were a driving force in the folk music seen & Paul’s weapons of choice early on was a Guild F-30 12-string along w/a Martin D-28. What we have here is a very rare & early production 1968 “Paul Simon” model 12-string, yes that’s right…a Paul Simon model stated on its original label inside its sound hole that pre-dates any signs of an actual F-30R 12-string in their catalog. Roomers have it that Guild made a few early examples w/Brazilian Rosewood back & sides. This is 1 of the few ever produced & dated w/a normal F-30 serial # as they had no 2 letter model designation for this rare beast. It was owned by 1 young lady for over 35 years & she enjoyed it immensely. Equipped w/a set of Grover tuners, she plays & sounds fabulous. Uncracked w/a great neck set, she’s ready for any serious Guild collector & I dare you…find another Paul Simon model ! Very Good overall & comers in a nice newer hard case.
