Description

Dale Unger, who studied under Robert Benedetto, a legend in the archtop guitar building world, poured all of Benedetto’s archtop guitar know-how into creating this globally rare, all-handmade full-acoustic model, now available in beautiful exceptional condition – a miraculous find ! American Archtop Guitars, based in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA, is a guitar brand run by Dale Unger and his son, Tyler Unger, who create all their guitars by hand. This particular 16″ Masterpiece is a 1-off model from Dales’ “American Collector Series” called “White Lightening” purchased new by renowned Photographer, Ray Baldino, on July 22nd, 1998. It’s the 116th guitar made by Dale. Its white finish exhibits some slightly aged patina having yellowed a bit here & there, w/no play wear evident. It’s a relatively easy-to-hold body size of 16″ wide and 3″ thick, making it a comfortable size for all  Jazz players. It’s 1 3/4″ nut size w/a 25″ scale & its floating pickup make for some incredible warm tones w/huge volume. It features an all-solid wood construction with a hand-selected solid European spruce top, superb solid flame maple sides, and a solid back, all crafted by Dale Unger himself.  It’s truly near mint in all respects. Included is a CD of many guitars produced by Dale Unger being played by Dales Clients…pretty cool. It’s complete w/a spec sheet when new in 2002, an autographed photo of this exact guitar by Dale in its original black tolex hard case.
