Description
I am offering a Gibson J-100 XTRA from 2001, all solid timber sister acoustic guitar model of the SJ-200 with voluminous Super Jumbo design, fine Sitka spruce top w/the back and sides made of wildly figured flamed maple, walnut-reinforced flamed maple neck w/a rounded neck profile, rosewood fingerboard with classic mother-of-pearl crown inlays & high-quality Kluson Vintage Style Keystone gold tuners, and characteristic moustache rosewood bridge in a brilliant antique natural high-gloss nitrocellulose finish w/a pretty tortoise pickguard in great condition. Manufactured in Bozeman at the turn of the millennium, the Gibson J-100 XTRA is the stylistically reduced sister of the legendary SJ-200 model, but retains its impressive Super Jumbo design. With its all solid construction and selected tonewoods—fine-grained Sitka spruce for the top and flamed maple for the back and sides—it delivers the powerful, assertive sound for which Gibson’s Jumbo models have been prized for decades. The hand-carved X bracing gives the guitar tremendous dynamics and long sustain, while the large-volume body shape provides powerful bass, brilliant highs, and excellent projection—ideal for strumming, singer-songwriters, and stage performances. In fact, the J-100 XTRA is hardly inferior to the SJ-200 in terms of sound. This Gibson J-100 XTRA is in well-played but very good condition overall and technically flawless. Visually, there is only occasional minor superficial wear (see pictures). The tonewoods are excellently played in and the frets are still excellent. Comes in a nice molded hard case.
