Description
This is a great example of what Martin specialized in…making such fabulous sounding small bodied models of all types. This is a very special early production 00-18H w/a factory “Shaded Top” made in 1937, perhaps the most coveted year for any Martin guitar build, in 100% original shape. 1 of just a few 12-Fret neck models originally set up Hawaiian style & now completely converted to Spanish style. It’s got a very rare & desirable “Sunburst” finished Spruce top is quite clean. It still has all of its original scalloped braces. Its Mahogany back & sides are absolutely crack free & quite clean too. Its 1 piece neck feels very comfy w/its prominent smooth “V” shape, plays great & has a perfect neck angle. It sports a beautiful Brazilian Rosewood headstock veneer. Its original nickel plated plastic button tuners are clean & hold tune well. Its Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard still sports its original bar frets & white dot inlays. Its beautiful Tortoise’gard pulls this all together. She’s had a complete neck reset & bridge replacement & is ready to enjoy. If you ever wanted a killer sounding & playing 88 year old 00 size Martin…this is it. She’s a real once in a life time opportunity to get one of the finest Sunburst finished 00-18’s on Earth that’s truly near mint overall & comes in a period hard shell case.
