Description
This 1979 Guild D-25M is a classic American-made dreadnought with a rich, balanced tone, strong projection, and plenty of low-end presence. Its natural finish showcases the traditional Guild aesthetic, while the comfortable dreadnought body makes it equally well suited for strumming, flatpicking, and singer-songwriter work. A great example of Guild’s respected craftsmanship from the 1970s. A Westerly, Rhode Island-era built Guild featuring mahogany neck, back and sides, mahogany brown stained Sitka spruce top, and rosewood fretboard and bridge. This dreadnought-style model boasts a dignified sound characteristic of American acoustic guitars. With 20 frets, it’s easy to handle, from singing and playing to flat picking. This model offers a rich volume thanks to its larger body size, and the mahogany’s characteristic focus on the midrange is particularly appealing. The rosewood fingerboard provides a pleasant playing feel, and despite its simple construction, it allows for clear and well-defined tones. It embodies the Guild aesthetic, prioritizing practicality as an instrument rather than relying on excessive ornamentation. The sound has a moderate thickness in the bass, while the overall tone has a dry, cohesive quality. The chords have good projection when strummed, making it well-suited for vocal accompaniment. It’s very good overall shape showing a good amount of play time, yet has a very nice patina. She comes in a decent hard case.
