Description
We have a very special 1 family owned 1956 Gibson ES-175C in fabulous condition and in perfect working order. This golden age Gibson ES-175 features a single neck position P-90 pickup, a Honduran mahogany neck with full ‘50s neck carve, and a 100% original Sunburst nitro lacquer finish. The fully hollow 16″ wide maple body yields tremendous tonal complexity, characteristic of the note attack and clarity of maple, but also the smoothness and warmth attributable to the hollowbody construction. Its oval orange is clean & legible. Its body date code is a “V” dating to 1956 production. The sound is bold and balanced acoustically, and the P-90 yields plenty of glassy, percussive cut and sweet midrange bark. The Sunburst nitro lacquer finish presents extremely well, exhibiting subtle checking and 100% original with no touch-up or overspray. Its original pickgard is missing but we’ll include a cool original 1970’s pickgard in need of installation. She’s exceptionally clean & comes in its original brown tolex/pink lined hard case.
