Description

This is a wonderful super early 1st example of an all original 1958 Gretsch 6122 Country Gent that’s been enjoyed most of its life. It has a distinctive see-thru Walnut stain over a very figured maple Top example. Its headstock features the Gretsch T logo, its serial # is stamped into the headstock plaque dated to 1958. It’s got Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlaid rosewood fingerboard, a set of powerful “PAF” Filter’trons, gold hardware & smooth unsculpted gold plastic pickup bezels, Gold lucite’gard & gold “G” knobs. It’s sporting a set of repro Grover Imperial tuners (w/the originals in its case pocket) & she has her original bar bridge in place w/its cool “V” Cutout Bigsby vibrato. What makes this early Gent so special is that on the 1st few years of production, Chet had the F-holes filled w/these plastic inserts to keep all the sound inside its body. It’s truly excellent in all respects w/body bindings slightly crystalizing in places but are very stable. She comes complete w/its clean original gray tolex/maroon lined hard case.
