1961 Gibson ES-175DN

We have a very special 1961 Gibson ES-175DN in fabulous condition and in perfect working order. This 65 year old ES-175DN features a 100% original Blonde Nitro Lacquer finish on both its neck & body & a 1 piece mahogany neck w/a cool early 60s neck carve, she’s sporting a pair of PAF Humbucking pickups that sound like Pat Metheny. The fully hollow 16″ wide maple body yields tremendous tonal complexity, characteristic of the note attack and clarity of maple, but also the smoothness and warmth attributable to the hollowbody construction. Its oval orange label is clear & clean. The sound is bold and balanced acoustically, and the HB’s yield plenty of glassy, percussive cut and sweet midrange bark. It’s got no touch-up or overspray. Its original pickgard is perfect & it retains its Zig-Zag Tailpiece ! She’s exceptionally clean & comes in its matching Brown Tolex / Pink Lined hard case.
