1965 Fender Jazz Bass
This is a very cool all original late production Custom Color Pre-CBS Jazz Bass, it has its original Candy Apple Red finish over an Alder body w/a slight fade w/a matching Headstock, these clean colored Jazz Basses are very rare, its “Unbound” Rosewood Dot neck is super comfy & she has a stamped neck date of October 1965 making it 1 of the very last Leo spec’d original Jazzes ever produced, it’s sporting a serial # (L56XXX) stamped on its 4-bolt neck plate, its original White pickgard is quite clean, its 2 pickups are super smooth w/that quintessential “Jaco” sound !, its pot date codes are from the 40th week of 1964, its so cool from its nickel tuners to its threaded saddle bridge, this is from Leo’s last type Jazz Basses & has a gorgeous patina for a 57 year old original, it plays & feels incredible, the back of the neck was stamped “Charcoal Frost” but obviously the order changed to CAR, other than having a few dings & chips in the finish, she’s still far betta than Excellent, 1 of the best & most desirable examples on Earth, comes complete w/her original Black Tolex Hard Case.
