The Wal Bass Mk. II 5-string is a quintessential British bass guitar that exemplifies precision craftsmanship and tonal excellence. Completed in January 1988 from some beautiful American Walnut facings front & back that are over a killer Brazilian Mahogany core overlay that contrasts beautifully with the striped Indian Rosewood fingerboard, which provides a smooth, ultra-dense playing surface that ensures crisp note definition and exceptional sustain. As a Mk. II model, this bass represents a refined evolution of Wal’s iconic design, incorporating years of meticulous engineering and musical innovation. The five-string configuration extends the instrument’s tonal range, offering musicians expanded harmonic possibilities and a deeper low-end response. Renowned for their handcrafted quality, Wal basses are more than mere instruments—they are precision-engineered musical works of art that combine unparalleled sonic performance with breathtaking aesthetic design. Each Wal Bass Mk. II is a testament to the brand’s commitment to creating instruments that are as much a joy to look at as they are to play, blending traditional British lutherie with cutting-edge musical engineering. This has been played & enjoyed & now this 37 year old is ready for its next caretaker. She’s excellent overall & comes in its original brown molded hard case.
