Description
R.C. Allen was a noted Luthier who built Arch Tops for local and regional players of note, was a fixture at vintage-guitar shows in Southern California, died March 1st, 2014. The last of the original SoCal electric-guitar builders, Allen was renowned for sharing his secrets of building & for the Arch Tops he made for Merle Travis, Del Casher, and many more. This is a Super 400 size 18″ over the top Jazz Guitar that’s a wonderful example of RC’s workmanship. Its Blonde finish covers an amazing selection of nicely Flamed Maple on its Top, Back & sides. Its got a very interesting rope style binding all around its top border, around its massive & very ornate “Abalone” inlaid Headstock & around its Tortoise pickgard. It’s equipped w/a set of Gibson Humbuckers that sound delicious. Made in 1996 for a client, “Brent Haesler”, whom had his name inlaid in its Ebony fingerboard as he enjoyed it for more than 20 years. Its in exceptionally clean all original condition & comes in its original Black hard case.
