2006 Fender Showmaster Elite QMT Set Neck Hardtail Custom Shop

This is a very rare & early special ordered “Custom Shop” Showmaster w/a set-neck body Strat construction that’s perhaps 1 of the coolest ones ever produced. Its groovy see-thru Cherry’burst finish is over an incredible AAA figured Qulited Maple top laminated over a mahogany back & sides to its body. Its edges have hand scraped maple body binding. It’s also got a 1 piece mahogany neck w/a factory set neck design. It’s got an ultra cool black painted Telecaster Headstock & an ornate Tribal Sun inlaid Ebony fingerboard w/a 12″ radius. This set-neck option never did convince Fender to keep this high line Strat on its special order option sheet for very long & went against most Fender buyers that luv’d its original 4-bolt neck design. It’s loaded w/2 potent Seymour Duncan Humbucking pickups making a very fancy Hair Band guitar while sporting a factory stop tailpiece. Its got a gorgeous set neck heel carve, Schaller locking tuners & made w/out any pickgard w/a scrumptious carved maple top still retaining its 5-way switch. She’s got all chrome hardware that completes its stunning Hard Rock appearance. My friend John Page, who ran the custom shop for years, told me that Fender originally started w/a set-neck Tele design in the late 80’s.  He stated that when John Suhr joined the custom shop Master Builders in 1994. This Strat was registered by the factory in 2006 on its COA making it 1 of the hippest Custom Shop guitars. This is basically an early Master Built Strat w/its SZ Custom Shop logo on the back of its headstock. These were made just as certificates were offered & we have rarely seen a Strat as beautiful & this special ordered until the full blown Master Built’s were offered. It’s excellent & comes complete its original COA w/a Black hard case.
