Description
These Fodrea Basses are traditionally handmade in Brooklyn, New York. The “II” is a single-cut version of the historic Emperor body of Fodera. Even such an elegant Emperor can be single-cut ! So with the “II” it became a single-cut model. The fact that it is not the same is also fun and it is a model with a distinctly different flavor. Looking at the body top, this example has a clean, subdued “Pin Burl Redwood” top w/a matching headstock veneer w/an extended “B” tuner. The back is the standard walnut veneer w/a lightweight mahogany core. The neck-thru design that runs through the body is made from a 5-piece maple & purple heart. Its also got a Pau Ferro fingerboard. Compared to the normal 24-fret specification, the fingerboard is not simply extended, but is cut deep, which is a nice touch that makes it easy to play. It’s got a set of Seymour Duncan Dual Coils w/plastic narrow covers. She’s been played a bit yet still quite clean overall & very expensive new. It comes in its original tear drop shaped hard case.
