1966 Hofner 470 Acoustic Arch Top

This is a c.1966 Hofner model 470 that is a rare fully acoustic Arch Top by the famous german luthier “Höfner”. Most of these 470’s models are fully electric having 2 pickups. During the golden age of German guitar making from the 1950s thru the 1980s, Höfner produced a variety of fabulous instruments that gained worldwide recognition. Many musicians, including Paul McCartney, relied on Höfner guitars throughout their careers due to the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship. This is a gorgeous Big Blonde Bad Boy that was 1 of the most ornate Hofner guitars ever. Notice the stunning Flamey Maple back & sides w/a beautiful Spruce Top. It’s got this really cool pearloid bound body & F-Holes with crazy carved dark wood & abalone inlays all over its ebony fingerboard & headstock. She’s got all gold hardware including its tuners & a very special engraved tailpiece. Its black laminated pickgard is engraved w/the Hofner logo & is quite deco too. She’s got 4 top cracks well repaired & very solid yet the rest of the guitar is exceptionally clean. It comes in a nice newer molded hard case.
